SPRINTER JANA SLANINOVÁ IS A NEW REINFORCEMENT OF KILPI RACING TEAM

Kilpi Racing Team has added a new reinforcement to their ranks. It is Jana Slaninová, this year's 200 m indoor champion of the Czech Republic, an athlete body and soul with athletic roots, who has practically grown up in the stadium. In her life and sport, Jana follows the motto "If it was simple, everyone would be doing it."
Jana has had no problems with her motivation since her childhood. Her mother is Táňa Kocembová, a former sprinter and a peer of Jarmila Kratochvílová, who she often finished behind. Her dad is a former athletics coach, Jan Slanina. It is no wonder, that Jana also opted for running on the athletic track.
Paradoxically, she was drawn to a different sport at first. Her parents had given her freedom and had never forced her into athletics. Despite this fact, she participated in many running events, especially the Chocolate Spike, in her childhood, but in the second grade she started competitive dancing. And she was very successful - she made it to the title of the world champion in disco dancing. Over time, however, the collective sport ceased being fun any more. She wanted to compete on her own. At the age of 14 she decided to take part at the 300 m Czech Republic Championship without having trained before, as well as win it. Since then, year after year, she has been regularly fighting for a place in the national team and she has been doing well so far. She inherited the speed from her mother, and she specializes in 100 m, 200 m and 400 m sprinter tracks. As she says, she wants to be a “universal” but admits at the same time that she has achieved her greatest successes on the 200 m track so far.
Jana sums up her attitude to sport by saying that “Professional sport is hard work and sacrifice, and that's what I love about it. I devote myself to athletics to the fullest and thanks to that I travel a lot, meet new people and try to overcome my own limits every day. My biggest goal is the dream of every athlete - to participate in the Olympic Games.” We are delighted to welcome an athlete with such targets to our team!
