TOMÁŠ MATERA'S FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE WITH GODZONE ADVENTURE RACE IN NEW ZEALAND

We spent virtually all week on GodZone Adventure race trail in an international team consisting of Pavel Paloncý and Tomáš Matera (CZE), Kevin Stephens (GBR) and Marika Wagner (SWE). We could thus perfectly enjoy all the "delights" which the adventure race brings.
The 600 km long trail was divided into 8 stages where we alternated among trekking, mountain biking, packrafting and kayaking. Unfortunately, we were deprived of the chance to fight for the top positions right at the start because one member of our team had injured their ankle in the evening before the race. However, we managed to finish the race, which I consider a success, given the circumstances. Even this is part of the sport and I believe next time it will be better again.
